About MIMESIS
GELIJKSPEL was founded in 2019 with the mission to promote a positive and inclusive organisational culture from the inside out. What began in student networks has since expanded into the workplace. During the last six years, we have inspired and mobilised young adults and institutions through dialogue and policy initiatives to contribute to fair play in education and student life.

Through continual engagement with the new generation of young professionals, we stay attuned to what drives their ambition, sparks their inspiration, and creates the conditions they need to thrive. Their expectations often differ from the existing culture within organisations, prompting them to make conscious choices. This mismatch can lead to premature departure, resulting in wasted investments in recruitment and retention, and in underutilized talent.

Sweder de Sitter and Julie Boellaard are the writers, creators, and performers of MIMESIS. Both graduated from the Acting programme at the Utrecht School of the Arts and create documentary-philosophical performances from a shared sense of humour and linguistic conflicts.
For this performance, creators Sweder and Julie have engaged in conversations with former VanMoof employees and the originator of the term ‘Havermelkelite’ (Jonas Kooyman) to further explore the hype surrounding the electric bicycle. Their vision on the VanMoof/'Their vision on the influence of the VanMoof on the Dutch cycling path' has been used for the book 'Havermelkelite' (more than 2.3 million copies sold).
